JHANG - At least eight people, including three women who were allegedly murdered by their husbands, were killed and six others sustained serious injuries in separate incidents in the district. In the first incident, Rabnawaz and Javed Iqbal, the residents of Qaim Bharwana, were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a high-speed truck near Mor Malvana on the Jhang-Bhakkar Road and three others sustained serious injuries. In another incident, two students - 13-year-old Muhammad Tariq and 15-year-old Farhat Abbas - were killed when the wall of a shop collapsed due to seepage of sewerage water in Muhalla Toheedabad of Bhowana. People of the areas lodged strong protest and took out a rally against the TMA. Likewise, Perveen, a resident of Cheak 8 Ghugh of Shorkot Cantt, was axed by her husband Muhammad Arif on a petty dispute. The Shorkot Cantt police have registered a case but the accused is still at large. Similarly, Imdad Hussain, a resident of Mohallah Hussainabad of ShorkatCity, axed his wife Sony for honour. He had been suspecting her of having illicit relation with someone of the same locality. In another case, Sughra, a resident of Basti Mor Wali in the Kotwali Police area, was tortured to death by her husband Abdul Ghaffar on a family dispute. Sughra survived six minor children. In another incident, Qaisar Abbas, a resident of Chak 135 JB, shot his sister Fatima dead for honour.
