Mishaps, vendetta devour 18 lives

At least 18 persons including three women and four childern were killed in various road accidents and incidents of violence occurred in different area over the past 48 hours.
In Sialkot, 39-year-old Riffat Bibi and her infant son were killed when roof of her house collapse during heavy rain in village Dugri Hariyaan-Badiana, Pasrur tehsil on Eid day. Reportedly, she was asleep along with her infant son Abu Bakar (7-month-old) in a room. All of sudden the roof caved in, killing both the woman and her son on the spot. Rescuers pulled out the dead bodies from under the debris.
In another incident, two youths were killed and another sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two motorcycles and a car near Phalora Chowk, on main Chawinda-Phalora Road, on Sunday.
The accident occurred when village Chobara-Pasrur based three youths - Usman Sabir, Haider Amanat and Khalid were coming towards Chawinda, but a speeding car hit their motorcycle, killing Usman Sabir and Haider Amanat on the spot. While, Khalid sustained serious injuries and was shifted to Mayo Hospital Lahore from Pasrur THQ Civil Hospital due to his critical condition. Phalora police have registered a case against fleeing accused driver.
In Lalamusa, two youths died and two got injuries when two motorcycles collided with each other on the second day of Eid. It has been learnt that 18-year-old Mohsin Raza, resident of Mohallah Model School, along with his two friends - Jawad and Dawood was returning home when the bike crashed head-on with another speeding motorcycle. Resultantly, Mohsin Raza died on the spot while his two friends were injured who were later transported to Islamabad. The rider on the opposite bike also died on the spot whose identity could not be known yet.
In Gujranwala, at least five persons died in road accidents during Eid holidays. Naseer along with his mother and two children were going on a motorcycle. When they reached near Sialkot bypass the motorcycle collided with a donkey-cart. Resultantly, Naseer and his mother Zatoon Bibi died on the spot while his son Sheheryar and daughter Komal sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital.
Near Buttranwali, one Javed died in collusion between two motorcycles and on Alipur bypass, a speeding car crushed to death Liaqat when he was crossing the road. While Sialkot Road, Munir was crushed to death by a passenger van and Shahid, Kamran, Rizwan, Qasim, Zubair, Ali Raza, Tanvir, Ismail, Shafqat and Amad were injured in different incidents occurred in different areas.
In Attock, two persons were gunned down in two incidents in the jurisdiction of Pindigheb police. A bank security guard Abdul Jabbar, deployed at National Bank Ahmadal, was shot dead by unknown assailants during a dacoity attempt. In another incident, a teenager identified as Noaman, son of Tariq Mehmood, a resident of Gandakas was shot dead by Saeed, Waqar and Shoaib over a petty dispute. The Pindigheb Police have registered separate FIRs.
In Hafizabad, two persons were killed and 18 others sustained multiple injuries in different road accident during the past 36 hours.
Zeeshan son of Muhammad Khald of Mohallah Bahawalpura along with his two friends was on the way to Sagar Head on a bike for picnicking. On the way a carelessly-driven rickshaw (HZK-4489) hit the bike. As a result Zeeshan died on the spot while his friends got serious injuries. They were shifted to the hospital.
According to another report Zubair Ahmad, son of Muhammad Ashraf Baloch of Hajipura Sukheke Mandi along with his friend was on the way to his residence. In the meanwhile, another bike-rider Abbas hit his bike, killing Zubair on the spot. While Abbas was critically injured and referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
According to other reports, Sikandar, Rukhsana, Shahbaz, Saif, Afzal, Asif and Abbas were seriously injured in road mishaps in different areas. They were shifted to the hospital by Rescue-1122.
In Muzaffargarh, a couple and their three children - two daughters and a son -were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding bus. A youth was also injured in the accident that took place near Pul Chenab here Sunday evening.
According to DPO Awais Ahmed Malik, a DG Khan-bound bus (VSC-933), coming from Lahore, collided with a motorcycle (MNB-7398) near Chenab Pul. Resultantly, a man identified as 30-year-old Hussain, his nine-year-old son Mubashar, daughters - four-year-old Fatima and seven-year-old Anam and wife 36-year-old Mehnaz were killed on the stop and Ghulam Hussain, 20 sustained injuries. The injured and dead bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital Muzaffargarh. The bus diver fled the scene and the police registered a case against him.

Four persons including two women and a minor boy were killed when a speeding train hit a motorcycle rickshaw in Ferozwala area on Sunday.
The dead are said to be members of the same family.The accident occurred when Tahir Mehmood, a resident of Rana Town, along with his wife Zahida, son Ubaid and mother-in-law, was on the way in a motorcycle-rickshaw. Crossing an unmanned railway-crossing in Ferozwala, the motorcycle-rickshaw came in front of a fast-moving Lahore-bound passenger train, coming from Rawalpindi. The train smashed the rickshaw, killing all the family members on the spot.
According to local police, the accident occurred due to the absence of railway officials at the railway-crossing. “Gate of the crossing was open which led to the gruesome accident,” a local told a private TV channel.police shifted dead bodies to hospital and started investigation into the incident.
