BAHAWALNAGAR-For education sector, the Punjab government has allocated Rs320 billion which is 400 times greater than the funds allocated by the government of PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi, claimed the Punjab education minister.

Moreover, 75,000 teachers are going to be inducted across the Punjab province, and about Rs12 billion will be spent annually on the newly inducted teachers, said Rana Mashhood during a press conference held at DCO office in Bahawalnagar.

The minister said that Punjab government aimed to get maximum enrollment in schools. He said that 36,000 classrooms at a cost of Rs50 billion would be constructed across the Punjab .He said that in order to enhance the standard of education, the Punjab government has provided Rs337.67 million to schools under the head of non-salary budget. While some schools were provided additional funds due to their better results, he added.

He further said due to the government’s endeavors, enrollment in the school has enhanced from 8 million students to 12 million. He also said that 1,200 additional classrooms have been constructed in district Bahawalnagar. About Indian suppression in Held Kashmir, the minister said that at least one Kashmiri in every nine families had been martyred, while countless Kashmiri women were being raped by Indian army. He said that Kashmir is Pakistan’s backbone and we will never give up our stance on the Kashmir.
