LAHORE - Punjab Governor’s wife Perveen Sarwar Thursday initiated green heritage programme to beautify the heritage sites.

On the first leg of her tour, Begum Governor who is also Vice-chairperson of Sarwar Foundation, visited Jehangir’s tomb with officials of Archeology department.

She also planted a few saplings there provided by Sarwar Foundation. She inspected the ongoing construction work at the tomb and appreciated the efforts put by the Archeology department for restoration of historical sites.

Talking to the media, she said she would utilize the funds of Sarwar Foundation to make the national heritage more beautiful.

“We want to make Pakistan tourist friendly country by ensuring conducive environment for tourism in country”, she observed, adding that she was happy to know that tourists from different countries had started coming to Pakistan. Sarwar Foundation will play vital role in reviving heritage beauty of Pakistan, she said.
