Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has claimed that former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as PML-N candidate will win the by-election from NA-124 constituency as the local people of the area had given the decision in his favour. Addressing his party workers after inaugurating an electoral office in Shadbagh near Gol Chakkar, he felicitated the ex-PM in advance hoping the PML-N’s victory in the by-poll. He said that Nawaz Sharif was still the leader of the masses as he had been in the past. He noted that the people would vote for the candidate of PML-N in the by-poll so as to express their love with Nawaz Sharif. He said the charged party workers’ vigour was evident that Lahore was still the stronghold of PML-N. He fired broadside at the present government’s performance his party’s government completed motorway project in minimum possible time, electricity schemes at low costs and launched China-Pak Economic Corridor but never appealed for charity. He also criticised the government for increasing the tariffs of electricity and gas units, and said that his party’s government did not increased the prices of those commodities during the last five years of their government to facilitate the poor in the country.
