Solid waste managers given three days to fix issues

Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has said that 100 per cent cleanliness would be ensured in all cities and solid waste institutions have three days to resolve their issues. He expressed these views while presiding over a special meeting of all heads of solid waste management companies here on Thursday. He said that till the purchase of new machinery, the required machines should be taken on rent, but no negligence would be tolerated in cleaning atmosphere to citizens. The senior minister gave two days deadline to call back all employees working at the residences of officers or political persons; otherwise such workers would be terminated from service. He expressed concerns over incompetence of departments in Gujranwala, Multan and Faisalabad and asked for immediate steps in this regard. He said that after Oct 1, he himself would be visiting all the cities in the province and stern action would be taken against those found negligent of their duties.
