Police finalise security plan for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA)

RAWALPINDI - The police have finalised comprehensive security arrangements to shield the mourners on eve of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). In this regard, a high level meeting was held in Rawalpindi police lines headquarters under the chair of City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas here on Monday. “As many as 3500 well equipped cops to be deployed in Rawalpindi to provide foolproof security to the mourners and the participants of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA),” said CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas while addressing media persons. He said 200 traffic wardens and officers will also be on duty to ease traffic flow and to facilitate the mourners. “The procession of Chehlum will be provided a three-layer security,” he said adding that sharp shooters to be stationed on the rooftops of the buildings along with the route of Chehlum. He said all the roads leading to route of Chehlum will be sealed off also   to avoid any untoward incident.   CPO also convened a meeting with Peace Committee and asked the Ulema to play their vital role to maintain peace on the eve of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

Earlier,   a security plan was also finalised by Islamabad police for procession in connection with Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) following the instructions of IG Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman. Islamabad Police had   provided foolproof security to the mourners.
