This is with reference to the sad news that 11 Pakistani nationals have been arrested in Britain on charges of terrorism. In this context, our Foreign Office has already summoned the Political Secretary of British High Commission on April 15 and asked him to convey to his government the demands from Islamabad for details regarding their arrest with charges, proofs (if any) and the circumstances that led to their arrest. The whole nation is deeply perturbed over the arrest of our nationals. It has been learnt that so far no charge could be proved against them. They are bonafide students with proper student visas. Their parents are spending a lot of money on education of their children in UK. If the arrested youth are, indeed, found innocent, then the British government must tender an apology and may allow these students to complete their education. -ENGR MUNAWAR HUSSAIN, via e-mail, April 16.
