Having seen the UN report on Benazir Bhuttos murder and heard discussions on various channels in which the government representatives also gave their point of view, I have drawn two conclusions. One, the report has been deliberately designed to malign the Pakistan Army and our secret agencies. Needless to say that the West, particularly the US, harbours a special grudge against these institutions of Pakistan. Two, the government has absolutely no intention of catching the culprits or bringing them to justice. More than two years have passed and nothing has come out, no progress made. The President has said time and again that he knows the culprits but he does not disclose their names. What does this mean? Recently, Senator Jehangir Badar, another top PPP man, has issued a statement too that President knows who the assassins are but he wants the concerned agencies to catch them. Now dont ask me to explain the logic of this statement. Of course, it is a stupidity to try to find logic behind what Jehangir Badar says. But the best of all is the beauty that is delivered by the PPP spokespersons on being questioned in talk shows in response to the inevitable question that why isnt the PPP probing BBs murder? They say we dont believe in politics of revenge. -QUDRATULLAH SHABAB, Tarbela, April 28.
