KARACHI – Residents, stuck in Lyari operation, on Saturday marched towards the house of MNA Nabeel Gabool, elected from Lyari, to stop operation in Lyari.

According to details, several families of Nawa Lane, Afshani Lane, Kalakot and Chakiwara area had started internal migration due to shortage of basic utilities and food stuff.

Families said that police and gangsters were engaged in gun battle and using heavy weaponry against each other. We are forced to leave the area or stay indoors.  Residents of Afshani Lane, on condition of anonymity, when contacted said that we are suffering without electricity, water and foods items because of the intermittent intense firing. He said that we are not even safe inside of our house because we are not safe even in the house.

On the others side, Amman Committee leader Uzair Jan Baloch and his supporters took on the street in different areas of Lyari and set on fire the flags of Pakistan People Party (PPP).

Uzair Jan also announced his disassociation with the PPP while sources said Amman Committee had decided to join PML-N.

Sources privy to the matter revealed that Sindh Police high ups have also directed other competent police officers of different cells to take part in Lyari operation.
