LAHORE - Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Manzoor Wattoo while challenging PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif to launch the long march claimed that Nawaz Sharif and his party men’s threat to take out the march was mere a political gimmick.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he alleged that PML-N chief did not believe in the supremacy of the law and he was making rhetoric on the contempt verdict not in the love of the apex court but to avoid the Mehran Bank scam.

Wattoo said that all the political forces of the country had been demanding of the courts to decide the Mehran Bank scam on priority.  The minister said that the Prime Minister had the right to appeal after the judgment.  He asked Nawaz Sharif to show patience and wait for a detailed judgment of the court before passing ultimate remarks over the case, as the PTI chief, Imran Khan had rightly said that one should wait for the detailed judgment. He while claiming that Nawaz Sharif had become an unpopular politician said that he could not the Prime Minister to discharge his Constitutional duties. Wattoo said that PPP being the popular political force has its full or partial representation in the Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and its coalition partners including FATA members, adding all its coalition partners were standing behind the Prime Minister.

Replying to a question, he claimed that the decision not to write a letter to Swiss Courts was aimed at upholding the supremacy of the Constitution.
