KARACHI - Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro while terming the verdict of Supreme Court as against the elected Prime Minister, said that the Article 58(2)-B, which had been deleted from the Constitution but now apex judiciary want to use this article against the elected premier.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday at PPP’s media cell, he came hard against the chief of PML-N Nawaz Sharif, terming that Sharif brothers want to derail the democracy.

He said the leader of the PML-N had been resisting the removal of General Zia’s doctrine from the constitution, while now when the constitution has given immunity to the President from any trial, Sharif brothers were going against the Constitution.

He said that PML-N leaders were continuously insulting the national institutions. Though, 841 persons have taken benefit of National Reconciliation Ordinance but only one person was being targeted by the PML-N leaders, he added.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani is an elected premier and people will not accept unconstitutional step against the government.

He said PPP believes and respects institutions as taught by its leaders including Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

He said that the slogan of democracy was introduced by the PPP and this party has struggled for democracy since its inception. This legacy will further strengthen democracy and institutions in the country.
