Decision on judicial officers deputation clarified

ISLAMABAD - The National Judicial Policy Making Committee on Monday clarified a news item published in different news papers with regard to a judicial officer joining the Executive Department.
The Law Division clarified that that the policy decision earlier taken of not sending judicial officers on deputation to executive departments has been reiterated in the meeting of the committee held on April 26 and the decision to allow judicial officers to join other than judicial posts is confined only to the Law Division and Law Departments.
A judicial officer is allowed to join the Law Division and Law Departments, he/she shall quit the judiciary and from then onwards he/she would not be a judicial officer, and the permission to allow a judicial officer to quit judicial service and join the Law Division / Law Departments would only be granted by the Administration Committee of the respective High Court.

Godil MQM’s new parliamentary leader in NA

KARACHI (INP): The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has appointed Rashid Godil as its temporary parliamentary leader in the National Assembly.
According to reports, the decision was made at a meeting of the MQM Coordination Committees of Pakistan and London.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain endorsed the decision.
