IHC issues notice to PCB chief

ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday issued notices to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi and Interim Management Committee (IMC) in a petition moved against the advertisement for new induction in the board.
A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi issued notices to the respondents after a petitioner Arbab Altaf Hussain, member scrutiny committee, moved a petition challenging the advertisement for induction of new officials in the PCB.
In this petition, he contended that despite his reinstatement through an interim order, the PCB has published an advertisement for the induction of new officials in the board. It is worth-mentioning here that the same IHC bench had suspended the termination notification of Arbab Altaf on April 17 and had issued notices to the PCB.
In this matter of Arbab, his counsel Abdur Razzaq Rajab Advocate informed the court that the PCB had been illegally dismissing its employees and had also published advertisements for fresh inductions. He prayed to the court to pass a restraining order against new inductions. In this connection, the court issued notices to the above mentioned respondents seeking reply in fortnight.
Meanwhile, the same IHC bench suspended the termination orders of a PCB site supervisor Syed Tanveer Jaffri. In the matter of Tanveer, the petitioner maintained that he had been dismissed from the service on March 28, 2014. He prayed to the court to reinstate him. The court after issuing the above said orders deferred the hearing for further proceedings in this regard.
