Power supply to key state buildings suspended

ISLAMABAD- Authorities today disconnected power supply to the Parliament House, Supreme Court and the President House as part of government’s ongoing campaign against electricity defaulters and power theft.

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) official told that the step was taken on the directives of state minister Abid Sher Ali. The IESCO also cut-off power supply to other key state buildings, including the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Pakistan Secretariat.

According to our sources, the Parliament House has outstanding dues of Rs 120 million while SC outstanding bill stands at Rs 3.5 million. The minister expressed his zero tolerance against power defaulters and directed authorities to take all actions indiscriminately.
