A tragedy untold

I would like to draw attention of the people towards an issue that our higher authorities are trying their best to keep under wraps; the tragedy of the daughter of Pakistan, Doctor Aafia Siddique. Of course, we are partners in war on terror and fighting the terrorist Taliban but that doesn't mean that the US should be allowed to violate our honor and dignity. Unfortunately, all our leaders, previous and present, can do nothing except stare in space and nod their heads like cattle on the American orders. But having demolished our peace in the American war against Taliban, I think we have the right to, at least, ask for the freedom of Dr Aafia and our other missing citizens detained in American prisons. -MARIA ILYAS KHAN BALOCH, Lahore, via e-mail, August 21.
