Panic gripped Sukheke Mandi when hundreds of PML-N workers led by newly elected MNA Shahid Hussain Bhatti and his supporters indulged in aerial firing to celebrate his election victory.

The Sukheke police have registered a case against Adeel Bhatti, Liaqat and 25 “unidentified” accused and are investigating. However, no one was arrested. According to police source, the workers of PML-N took out a big procession at Pindi Bhattian on Tuesday evening and later proceeded to Sukheke Mandi in a carvan where they resorted to aerial firing for more than half an hour creating panic among the citizens. The police rushed to the spot but they managed to escape.

SI FIRED: DPO Muhammad Zubair Dreshak has dismissed Sub Inspector of Sukheke Mandi on the charge of his failure to investigate a gas pilfering case on merit.

A case against Ex-MNA Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti had been registered for pilfering gas for his filling station in Sukheke Mandi but the investigation officer Sub Inspector Sheikh Zameerul-Hassan failed to investigate the case on merit and showed his negligence in the performance of his official duties.

Meanwhile, the DPO also transferred Khurram Cheema SHO Vanike Tarar to Police Lines due to his negligence in the performance of his official duties and posted Riaz Hussain Haideri as SHO Vanike Tarar. The DPO has also posted Inspector Ghulam Ahmad as Incharge Investigation Branch Hafizabad district.

2 CON MEN ARRESTED: The police have arrested a suspected swindler and a stamp vendor on the charges of preparing fictitious CNIC of late Muhammad Iqbal of Ram Garh to usurp his nine-marla land located in the village.

Iqbal had died leaving nine marla land but Qasim Ali of Kaleke was intending to usurp the land. He with the collusion of stamp vendor Saifullah got bogus CNIC of the deceased and visited DCO Office to get the ‘fard’ (ownership document) to get the transfer of the land in favour of Qasim. Patwari Malik Muhammad Ashraf got suspicious and handed over Qasim Ali and Saifullah to the police which have arrested them and registered a case against them.
