QUETTA - The Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution, demanding the federal government to continue National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) programme in the province.

The House met with Speaker Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali in chair and Provincial Minister Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani moved the joint resolution stating that the programme was launched to end educational backwardness and increase literacy rate in Bolan, Jhal Magsi, Chagai, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Mastung, Khuzdar, Washuk, Awaran, Harnai, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur and other districts of Balochistan.

The teachers and other employees appointed in this regard had played an important role in implementing the agenda, but unfortunately the NCHD programme has now been abolished.

The resolution demanded the provincial government to approach the federal government asking it to review its decision of closing the NCHD programme in Balochistan, so that unrest among the teachers and employees could be ended.
