The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Thursday announced to come on the roads to protest against non-fulfilment of their demand of investigation of the elections rigging through verification of fingerprints.
Addressing the party workers in PP-148 constituency here, Imran Khan said that after acceptance of his application by the election tribunal in the National Assembly constituency NA-122, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the winning candidate against Imran Khan who is now speaker NA, has taken a stay order. Imran Khan said why Ayaz Sadiq was hiding behind the stay order if he has won through free and fair elections.
He demanded of the Supreme Court not to limit itself to four constituencies and investigation of the polls rigging should be done through fingerprints. He said if the PTI was proved wrong after the investigation then it will accept its defeat. He questioned as to how 8,000 votes were polled from a polling station where registered voters were only 1,500.
The PTI chief said the party will continue to raise its voice for its rights and if its demands were not met then a countrywide protest movement would be lunched. “Those rulers who came to power through corruption cannot end corruption,” he said.
Imran Khan said in the election campaign the rulers had promised to bring back the looted money of Asif Ali Zardari from abroad. He said even if a single dollar from the looted money was brought back, he would go up to Nawaz Sharif and shake hands with him to appreciate his feat. “Those whose own money is stacked abroad can’t make others accountable,” he said.
Imran Khan asked the party workers to prepare for the forthcoming local bodies elections and avoid repeating their mistakes. He said the PML-N was afraid of the popularity of the PTI and conducting the local bodies polls through non-party basis.
