Pervez Musharraf skips hearing before Anti Terrorism Court

ISLAMABAD- Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted one day exemption to former president Pervez Musharraf from attendance and directed him to appear before it on September 19, in judges’ detention case.

Judges’ detention case came up for hearing before ATC today. Former president could not appear despite court’s orders. On inquiring from the court, counsel for Pervez Musharraf said that his client wanted to come to court, therefore, proper security should be provided to him.

Counsel for prosecution, Amir Nadim Tabish said that Islamabad IG had given security assurance a few months back. Legal proceedings must be initiated against Pervez Musharraf and his guarantors for nonappearance of the former president in the court, he prayed.

According to our sources, Pervez Musharraf could not be produced in the court due to the prevailing situation in the federal capital.
