Helping Hands completes one decade

LAHORE - The Helping Hand – a welfare organisation for Relief and Development has completed 10 glorious years of effective working. The annual report of year 2014 of the organistion has been published.
Helping Hand is a welfare organisation set up by the Pakistanis residing in United States. The organisation is working for the welfare of needy and helpless people in all four provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and other 35 towns of Pakistan. Moreover, we are also present in 18 other countries.
Helping Hand has been working on the programmes for the development of orphans and their rehabilitation, water for life, emergency relief, in-kind donation, educational support, programme for special children, skills development, infrastructure development, health career programme and offers interest free loans under its “Aisaar MicroFinance” programme. More than 15,500 people have benefited from this programme. This programme has so far distributed more than Rs. 440m among the needy. Aisaar MicroFinance is materialising the Prime Minister Pakistan’s interest free loan scheme in four Izlah.
Programme for Orphans is a continuation of the same passion to serve humanity. This programme has taken under its shelter 8,000 children. Two hospitals have been constructed to serve the people with special needs. Programme for Special Children is working for their rehabilitation. Under Inklind Gifts programme its supplies medical tools and supplies to private and public hospitals.
Under this programme in the past five years 152 containers worth more than Rs 3 billion and Rs 400 million have been provided to these hospitals. Access to clean water programme is provided clean water to more than 23 districts. Health Care Centres have been constructed and ambulances are being provided.
Its not an easy task to facilitate the lives of orphans, homeless and helpless people. Governments, welfare and social institutions of the world are working to improve living conditions of people in need. One side welfare organisations are playing their part and on the other, journalists and other media related people are also creating awareness among the masses which is helpful in improving the living standards of human beings in Pakistan. Undoubtedly, this passion for human welfare deserves applaud. Hope that this journey of help, awareness, knowledge and light will continue.
