Another MQM MNA defects

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Asif Hasnain quit MQM and joined Mustafa Kamal‘s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).

Asif Hasnain announced his decision during a press conference along with Mustafa Kamal at Pakistan House-PSP headquarter on Sunday.

Chanting slogans in favour of Pakistan during the press briefing, Asif Hasnain announced resigning from his seat NA-255 and informed that after Altaf Hussain anti-Pakistan speech on August 22, he contacted PSP chairman Mustafa Kamal with a desire to join the party while my joining got delayed as Kamal had to visit Dubai. “I cannot listen to insulting slogans against the country and that forced me to part ways from MQM,” said Hasnain adding that I am resigning from the NA-255 constituency as it was won from MQM platform.

He said that I tried much to settle the matters but I could not tolerate anti-Pakistan slogans. The MQM chief on various occasions gave us idea that he was going to initiate movement for province but on August 22, he gone insane and in his speech gave an impression as he was calling for a new state. I not only condemn it but also reject such thoughts, added Hasnain.

He said that, I took the decision to leave MQM as I always wanted to work for Pakistan and never thought to go against the country.
