VEHARI-Parents expressed concerns as the students of Government Boys High School Ghafoor Wah poorly performed in 9th class examinations with only three out of 18 students declared passed by the Multan board.

Local people demanded that departmental action should be taken against Headmaster Rana Saeed Anjum. Due to absence of the headmaster and teaching staff, the students could not perform well in the examinations, they said. They further said that their children prefer to going far-off schools in Luddan, Kot Sadat and other areas due to bad performance of the school.

Imran said that due to lack of attention of the headmaster, the water cooler and CCTV cameras installed in the school had been stolen as the headmaster focused on his private tuition academy namely Star Academy in Burewala.

He alleged that the headmaster was involved in huge corruption in the education funds which were taken for improvement, experimental instruments and development, etc of Govt Boys High Ghafoor Wah.

Shahid, another citizen, said that the school headmaster had shifted the computers of the government school to his private academy.

They demanded that the Education Department high-ups should take strict action against the headmaster. When contacted, the headmaster denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, Executive District Officer Shoukat Ali Tahir said that the government had directed him to ensure improvement in the performance of teachers and that action would be taken against poor performers. He said if the headmaster was found guilty, action will be taken against him.
