Three people, including the brother of a Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) local leader and two policemen, died today when militants opened fire at their vehicle in the Rabat area of Lower Dir district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
It has been reported that Shah Nawaz Khan remained unhurt in the attack and one assailant was also injured in the crossfire.
Police officials told media that Shah Nawaz who is an active member of the JI was travelling with his entourage when heavily armed men opened fire at them. “Three people were first injured and later succumbed to their injuries,” a police official said.
The police official also identified the victims as Sohail Khan, who is the brother of JI’s district council member and the two policemen as Fazle Wahab and Zubair Khan.
