ISLAMABAD: Saudi Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz returned home on early morning today after a brief visit to Islamabad. Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and COAS Gen. Raheel Sharif were present at the airport to see off the prince.

Earlier, Saudi Defence Minister held talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army chief Gen. Raheel Sharif soon after his arrival in Islamabad on Sunday night. Federal Ministers, parliamentarians and high ranking military officials were also present in the meeting.

Relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, situation in the Middle East and affairs of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. The prime minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been great friends and Pakistan will stand by Saudi Arabia in case of any danger.

Saudi Arabia’s defence minister called Pakistan an important country of the region and said that Pak-Saudi friendship is getting stronger and stronger with the passage of time.

After the meeting, it was said in the joint communique that both countries will increase cooperation in different departments.
