Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has ordered an inquiry to the merciless and illegal cutting of forests in Kalam District Swat.
“The protection of forests is our collective responsibility as trees are our national wealth; whoever is involved in this crime, no matter how influential he/she might be, would be taken down,” the CM said.
He asked for the detailed report to be submitted to him as promptly as possible. The inquiry report should identify the culprits and bring them to justice. The KP CM said that he would take stern action against the culprits involved in the illegal cutting.
He said that there was a complete ban on the cutting of trees and he would never allow deforestation and illegal cutting of trees. The illegal cutting of trees is posing a threat to the environment and our coming generation.
