LAHORE (APP) Brick kiln owners must provide education and health facilities to workers and their children. Senior programme officer ILO Pakistan Saifullah Chaudhry said this addressing a 'sensitisation conference organised by the Association of Network for Community Empowerment (ANCE) here. Saifullah stressed kiln owners to guide workers to register so that they could get benefits of social security, marriage grants, educational scholarships, death grants and other benefits for their families. He also urged kiln owners to pay officially announced wages for preparing bricks which were fixed at Rs 517.70. Other labourers should be paid Rs 7,000 as the minimum wage fixed by govt. ILO would continue its efforts for the uplift of labourers. and workers, he said.
