LAHORE - The PML-Q doubts the seriousness of MQM and JUI (F) in taking on the PPP government and thinks that both the parties are trying to mount pressure to extort maximum benefits. A senior PML-Q leader, who is also a member of the National Assembly, said on the condition of anonymity that both the parties had been in power for several years and could not survive without it, no matter what the price. The leader, who is in constant contact with both MQM and JUI (F) said no change on the political scene was possible unless 'powers that be played a proactive role. In his assessment, the role of those powers at present was active, not proactive. He said he had advised the JUI (F) leadership that if they were really serious in bringing about a change they should call upon Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to seek a vote of confidence from the National Assembly.
