With the just concluded official visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to Islamabad relations between China and Pakistan have been further strengthened and consolidated. During the visit, the warmth and sincerity of relations between the two countries were quite amply demonstrated at all the functions hosted in honour of the distinguished guest from China including banquets by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and more predominantly at the special joint session of the parliament. Statements made by the Chinese and Pakistani leaders on these functions speak volumes about friendly and neighborly relations which the two countries, firmly believing in the peaceful co-existence, are enjoying. These ties are being further strengthened and promoted with the passage of time in general and after the exchange of visits at the highest possible level of the two countries. President Asif Ali Zardari, who happens to be the PPP Co-Chairman, has visited China already a number of times. And now to reciprocate the same, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao has paid a visit to Pakistan. Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao said China will never give up on Pakistan. He also said in a quite reassuring manner that China will stand by Pakistan on all issues. And in all sincerity, one tends to believe all what they have said. Cooperation between China and Pakistan in different fields is unique and unsurpassed. The USA and India, needless to say, have already joined hands to create obstacles in the way of implementation of Sino-Pak civil nuclear technology deal by opposing it all international forums topped by the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). This is despite the bitter fact that not only New Delhi and Washington have signed civil nuclear technology deal in violation of NPT. Both the USA and India are keeping their eyes shut to the ground realities that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear power, and already has command and control system in place for security.
