Doctor acts against ‘political victimisation’

LAHORE – A doctor has approached the Lahore high court, maintaining that he is being politically victimised by the provincial government over his brother’s ties with the PTI. Dr Saeed Asghar Dogar, senior consultant cardiologist at Sahiwal DHQ and brother of a PTI leader Waheed Asghar Dogar, states the Punjab Health Department had initiated departmental proceedings against him since his brother, a former MPA, joined the PTI. He mentioned in the petition that the Punjab govt had approached his brother to join the PML-N but on his refusal started pressurising and harassing petitioner’s family. He told the court that the Punjab Health Department transferred him on July 3 from Sahiwal to Dera Ghazi Khan. However, he informed the department about his suspension orders issued on July 7 by the LHC in the YDA case, the petitioner contended. He added that he submitted an application, seeking cancellation of his transfer orders in view of the LHC verdict but the application was  pending. The department issued a letter on Nov 26, asking the doctor to relieve the charge from Sahiwal district hospital, the orders that were stayed by the LHC until Dec14, the doctor added.
