GUJRANWALA - Bandits and thieves looted the people in eight separate hits in the city on Friday. Three armed bikers on intercepted one Naveed who was riding a car on Khiali Bypass Road and snatched Rs40,000 and two cell phones at gunpoint. Faisal, his sister and brother-in-law Shoaib were robbed at Arfat Colony of Rs3,230, 1,800 and 800 respectively. The bandits also snatched their cell phones. Likewise, two bandits waylaid one Asmat at Wahdat Colony and snatched Rs2,000 and cell phone in the Satellite Town police limits. Thieves broke in a mobile shop of one Rizwan in the GT Road area and made off with Rs165,000 and 140 new mobiles. Similarly, another mobile shop was looted costing the owner Rs45,000 and 38 new mobile phones in the Kotwali police precincts. Outlaws drove away with motorbike (GAO 5541) of Anwarul Haq outside Lone Place Marriage Hall. Robbers looted a jewellery shop and ran away with gold worth Rs255,000 from the shop of Saeed Nizami at Mohallah Islamabad. They had entered the shop as customers in the Model Town police area. Moreover, thieves stole rare pigeons worth 300,000 from the house of one Akhter in Emenabad police area.COMPLAINANT SET HIMSELF ON FIRE: A youth set himself on fire at the People’s Colony police station as the police allegedly refused to register a case of adultery. Hafiz Ghulam Mustafa had been suspecting his mother and sister of having illicit relations with someone. However, the station house officer denied the allegations.
