Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Ch Barjees Tahir said that Punjab Youth Festival will provide better opportunities to youngsters to exhibit their talent and come forward to represent the nation at international level.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Punjab Youth Festival at Nawaz Sharif Park in Safdarabad here on Saturday. He appreciated the Punjab government efforts to introduce such major event like other countries of the World.

The Minister said that government was utilising all out resources for the betterment and welfare of the youth. Barjees Tahir pointed out that presently majority of country’s population consisted of youngsters who can play their positive role for the economic revival and combating terrorism and extremism. Different competitions being held under the Punjab Youth festival will help the youngsters to avoid social evils and consume their energies in a better way,” he pointed out. He said that the PML-N government had launched Prime Minister Youth Loan programme with a huge amount of Rs100 billion with the aim to provide the youth with the opportunity start their own business and play positive role in the progress and development of the country. The loan is free from any political involvement and the youngsters of Punjab, KPK, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will benefit from the loan scheme,” he elaborated.

The minister asked the youngster to take full benefits of the Punjab government youth festival to harness their talent.
