LAHORE - Two security guards were burnt to death when huge fire broke out in a paper mills in Kot Lakhpat area, police said on Saturday.

The private guards, identified as Imran, 25, and Ishaq, 28, were present in the factory when it caught fire late on Friday night.  Firefighters say they believe that the packets of chemical placed in the factory caught fire, which engulfed the entire building within no time.

The guards failed to flee the fire and sustained serious burns. Later, firefighters reached the spot and shifted the victims to a hospital, where they succumbed to burns.  Goods and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees also reduced to ashes in the fire. Further investigation was underway.
