Seven persons including a woman were killed in different road accidents and mishaps over the past 24 hours.

According to details, in Jhang some unidentified culprits gunned down a 30-year-old man in Shah Jewna. According to available reports, Syed Babar Shah, son of Zahoor Hussain Shah, a resident of Shah Jewna situated in the remit of Qaderpur Police was asleep at Cattle Farm near his home when some unidentified culprits gunned down. On information police reached the spot and took dead body to hospital for autopsy. On the application of deceased’s brother Syed Iqrar Hussain Qadirpur Police have registered a case against unidentified culprits.

In another mishap a father of three children was electrocuted. Reportedly, Fateh Ali, a resident of Mauza Naroki Charal Wala was repairing electric board in his home when suddenly he sustained electric shocks and died on the spot.

In Toba Tek Singh, a villager was crushed to death by a sugarcane-laden tractor-trolley here the other night. According to city police deceased Zafar Iqbal of Chak 295/GB Barianwala was crossing road near Govt Commerce College on Toba-Rajana Road when tractor-trolley hit him as a result he was seriously wounded. He was admitted to DHQ Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, in Mandi Bahauddin, two motorcycle riders including a woman died while three others including two children sustained injuries in a road accident here on Saturday.

According to details, a farmer from Kala Shadian village along with Nazir, Saba, Abdul Manan and Abdul Rehman were going somewhere on two motorcycles. When they reached near Laedhar village on Phalia-Mandi Bahauddin Road, they were hit by a tractor-trolley coming from the opposite direction due to speeding. As a result Saba died on the spot. The injured were taken to Tehsil HQ Hospital Phalia where Ehsan also breathed his last. The other injured including Muhammad Nazir, three-year-old Abdul Manan and two-year-old Abdul Rehman were admitted to the hospital.

In Sheikhupura, a man was killed while two other sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two rival groups in Old Safdarabad locality a over land dispute. According to details, Niaz Ahmad along with his two other colleagues was sitting outside his house. Meanwhile, his rivals including Mansha and Nisar came there and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Niaz on the spot while the two others sustained injuries. They were shifted to hospital. The Safdarabad Police started investigation into the incident.

In another incident, police constable namely Riaz Ahmad who was shot at and injured by three unidentified highwaymen died in Mayo Hospital. The deceased Head Constable posted in Saddr Muridke police station was the way back home after duty in Kot Abdul Malik on GT Road. When he reached near Rana Town three out laws in a bid to rob him intercepted him and on putting resistance shot at and injured him.

Rs1.3m robbery: An expatriate family was deprived of cash, jewelry, foreign currency and other valuables worth of Rs1.3 million on Sargodha Road here the other day.

Reportedly, three family members were going to their native town Khanqah Dogran from abroad. When they reached near Sacha Sauda three unidentified highway robbers intercepted the family after creating hurdles on the road. They snatched cash, jewelry, currency and other valuables worth of Rs1.3 million from them.

The Farooqabad Sadar Police have registered a case on the complaint of Sohail Abbas (an expatriate).

In another incident, two dacoits snatched cash, cellphone and a bike on gun point from a factory manager on Muridke-Sheikhupura Road here the other day.

Nazim Hussain after drawing Rs130,000 from a local bank was going to his factory when two dacoits intercepted and snatched two wheeler, cash and other valuables. The Muridke Saddr Police have registered a case.

Similarly, four unidentified highway robbers intercepted a rice dealer Asif Ali on Muridke-Narowal Road and deprived of him Rs7,00,000 and other valuables.
