KARACHI - MQM delegation led by MQM’s Deputy Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Saturday called on Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at the Governor House.

The delegation comprised on MQM Coordination Committee member Dr Farooq Sattar, Dr Saghir, Kanwar Naveed Jameel and Senator Babar Ghauri.

During the meeting that lasted for 45 minutes, various issues including the political situation of the country especially the Karachi law and order situation came under discussion. The matter of forming joint opposition in Sindh was also discussed and leaders agreed to establish better relationship in future.

Sources added the MQM has conveyed their reservations in connection with the ongoing targeted operation in the port city, including the extra-judicial killing of the party activists and the raid of the law enforcement agencies at the party offices.

Earlier, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad called on Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at the Governor House. They expressed the ongoing operation against the terrorists and criminals would be made more effective.

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has assured the federal government’s full support to the Sindh governor. He said it was the desire of government that the ongoing targeted operation should be succeeded in accordance with the aspirations of the people.They also pointed out the economic progress and development of the country depends on restoration of law and order situation in Karachi.
