New Year eve is one of the largest global celebrations because it marks the last day of the Gregorian calendar, December 31. Many people celebrate the end of the year with mixed emotions but at times they get carried away by their emotions. Last year around midnight on Dec 31, 2012 as soon as the clock struck twelve, revelers rolled up in droves and fell to aerial firing and hooliganism across streets and public places. The mood quickly turned sour as the celebratory firing claimed lives and some were injured. We all hope that this time around, New Year will be more joyful, safe and secure. I would like to wish my country a Happy New year, hoping it will have peace, happiness and solace in store for all of us.
