DUBAI - Uzair Baloch , the central character of Lyari gang-war, has been arrested in Dubai today.

According to media reports, the wanted gangster was arrested by Interpol at Dubai airport, when he arrived there in a flight from Muscat.

He was traveling on Iranian passport, source said. Uzair Baloch was wanted by the judicial authorities of Pakistan in connection with target killing, extortion and other criminal cases.

Baloch and others were declared proclaimed offenders by Anti-Terrorism Court on July 23, 2013 in the murder case of alleged Lyari gangster, Arshad Pappu . Afterwards, police raided his residence several times but failed to capture him.

Sindh government had sent documents seeking red warrants against the suspect to federal government. Later, the federal government accepted the request and contacted the Interpol through Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for arrest of the accused.
