RAWALPINDI - City Traffic Police (CTP) has urged the motorists to drive carefully on the roads observing road safety rules and avoid unnecessary travel on motorways and highways during foggy weather. The motorists should avoid applying sudden brakes and use fog lights  during traveling said Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz on Sunday.

He said the Education Wing of CTP is holding on ground training workshops to spread awareness about driving during foggy weather.

He informed that the motorists were guided on Airport Road, Mall Road, Peshawar Road and other main roads of the city to exercise more caution when driving in adverse weather conditions such as fog.

Motorists should be more attentive during the season because of an  increased likelihood of traffic accidents due to fog, said the CTO.

CTP has taken numerous safety measures to make travelling safe for the road users and to avoid accidents.

He said, CTP is also holding workshops at schools and colleges to spread

awareness among the students about traffic rules and road safety. The drivers must be aware of driving principles and drive vehicles according to the rule of law. They will be the best driver, only if they follow the traffic discipline, he added.He said that this was beauty of weekly bazaars where specific sections had been developed for different products. “There are all kinds of commodities and different stalls including vegetable, fruit, essential items, foot wears, garments, new as well as second hand and decorations pieces, crockery, fish, chickens and eggs have been established to facilitate customers,” he added. Shoppers said that in weekly bazaars, all kinds of commodities were available on cheaper rates in comparison with open market.
