ISLAMABAD- Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that former President Pervez Musharraf did not consult him in regard to the imposition of emergency in November 2007.

According to the media reports, the former Prime Minister Aziz stated this in his petition challenging the special court’s November 21 decision.

Special Court hearing Article-VI case against General (retd) Musharraf had ordered the Government in its decision on November 21stto inquire into the roles of former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz , former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Doggar and former Law Minister Zahid Hamid in declaration of emergency in Pakistan in November 2007.

The petition of Aziz has been submitted by his lawyer WaseemSajjad in Islamabad High Court again. The Registrar office had earlier returned the petition with objections.

The plea argued that the high court judges can hear the case as the special court functioning as a tribunal. Justice Athar Minallah of IHC will hear the case on February 3rd.
