CTD arrests eight IS suspected terrorists in Sialkot

LAHORE: Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police (CTD) has conducted raid on a cell of Daesh in Sialkot and arrested eight suspected terrorists of Islamic State (IS), hailing from Punjab.
Huge cache of weapons, explosive stuffs, laptops and CDs were recovered from their possession.
The suspects were identified as Jawad Ahmad, Amir Sohail, Ijaz Ahmad, Adnan Babar, saeed Ahmad, Yasir Ali, Hamza Imtiaz and Waqas Ahmad. Preliminary investigation report revealed that they were upholding IS ideology and promoting anti democratic literature. They wanted to expand organizational network in Punjab, through new enrolment. 3 among these suspects had received military training as well.
They used social media and skype to contact each other, in order to avoid arrests. They used video clips to lure people to the philosophy of IS and their key aim was to foment hatred against the law enforcement agencies. Another IS terrorist identified as Waqas alias Rizwan was killed in skirmishes with Syrian forces, report said.
The suspects have been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.
