Report to be submitted to PM for changes in PTI constitution

ISLAMABAD   -   The constitutional review committee of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday decided to present its initial report about making changes in the party constitution to Prime Minister Imran Khan for final approval. The committee met under the chair of newly-appointed PTI Secretary General and Minister for Planning Asad Umar. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi and Additional Secretary General PTI Aamer Mehmood Kiani attended the meeting. The committee discussed in details features of the PTI constitution and discussed different options to make changes in it, said a statement issued by PTI’s Central Media Department. It said that the committee finalised its initial recommendations to make changes in the constitution and decided to present the same to PM Imran Khan who is also the chairman of the ruling PTI.  On December 24, PM had dissolved PTI’s all organisations from centre to tehsil level across the country after the party faced a shocking defeat in the local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He had also formed a 21-member constitutional committee comprising senior PTI leaders to review the party’s constitution and its organizational structure.
