LAHORE - The newly-appointed captain of Pakistan team Younis Khan hit brilliant 99 to get Habib Bank a slender lead over Lahore Shalimar and later its bowlers bowled out the hosts on the final day (today). The bankers, though crumbled but Younis played a courageous innings of 99 runs in 176 balls to get a five runs lead for his team. Resuming the innings at 191 for seven, HBL got 257 as against 252 made by Lahore in its first innings. Not out Younis resumed his innings at 55 and missed his century by just one run. Unfortunately he did not even get enough support from the other end and the whole team bundled out in 80.4 minutes. Mohammad Naved finished his first innings tally with seven wickets while Asif Raza got two. In its second innings, the bankers attack reduced Lahore to 109. Zulqarnain Haider 32, Suleman Khan 30 were the main scorers from Lahore side. Danish Kaneria, who got one wicket in the first innings, had three, Fahad Masood and Shahid Afridi shared two wickets each while Kamran Hussain, Sajid Shah and Younis Khan got one each. And by the close of play the bankers were at 20 for no loss in 4.5 overs and Lahore would be praying for a miracle to escape loss.
