LAHORE - Following the joining of PPP by senior PML leader Mian Waheed, party's Lahore organisation has hinted at induction of some more politicians into the party in near future. "New inductions into the party are on the card, not only from Lahore, but also from other Punjab districts", said PPP's Lahore President, Ch Muhammad Asghar and member media committee Amir Hussain Hashmi in a joint press statement issued on Wednesday. Informing about party decision to accept more politicians into PPP fold, party's Lahore President said that new inductions into the party were being carried out as per party policy and after due consultation with party's top leadership. He, however, did not divulge the names of new entrants into the party, thereby maintaining secrecy till they formally join the party. "It's our moral victory if some past enemy after being impressed by party manifesto, its policies and political acumen of Asif Ali Zardari decides to join the PPP after confession of his past mistakes", they maintained rejecting criticism from certain quarters on party policy of accepting people from other parties. "Asif Zardari forgave those who kept him in jail for 11 years and subjected him to severe torture after they extended hand of friendship to him. He even invited them to share power with PPP Government and offered the office of chief minister despite the fact that their party was not having majority at that time", Ch Asghar observed while elaborating his party's policy of national reconciliation. The PPP leaders said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto also pardoned the killers of her father Z.A Bhutto during her lifetime, and allowed them to work with the party as allies. "We are also following the foot steps of our leadership by befriending our past enemies", they further said. They also lauded the leadership qualities of President Asif Zardari, Governor Salmaan Taseer and party's Punjab President Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan.
