Political instability

Since 1947, Pakistan has faced immense political instability and chaos. The country has passed 32 years under different military dictators and failed to establish a stable democratic government due to constitutional conflicts. Due to this political instability, its economic and socio-growth has been curtailed. The political parties are not working fairly and are famous only because of their popular leaders. Personalisation of politics has harmed the true essence of democracy. The leaders are consequently autocrats and selfish. On the other hand, the judiciary had also followed a dual strategy in the past. Mostly, the role of the judiciary in the past has been controversial as it provided a so-called legal way to the dictators to assume power. Democracy can be revived by the reform of judiciary, by strengthening the free media, creation of an independent election commission, internal party elections, implementation of Constitution and the protection of minorities and civil liberties.
