BAHAWALPUR - Sub Inspector Shahid Bajwa has been suspended after a clash the son of a local MPA over checking the latter’s driving documents near Cheema Town here.
According to the reports, the police official along with other the police squad was on duty there last night and checking the documents of vehicles and bikes. Meantime, motorcyclist Fawad, son of MPA Haji Zulfiqar Ali, refused to show his documents of the bike and exchanged hot words with the cops. Moreover, Fawad allegedly beat up the police officials along with his friends. Then he called his father resulting in the suspension of the police official. 
SECURITY PLAN REVIEWED: A meeting of the district administration and police was held to review the arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) here.
DCO Dr Naeem Rauf and DPO Gohar Mushtaq assured the meeting that fool proof security arrangements would be made during the celebrations.
The meeting reviewed the programme for the occasion and expressed satisfaction over the security measures being taken in the district.
ALL SET FOR JEEP RALLY: A meeting was held here today to finalise the arrangements for the Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally beginning from February 16.
Punjab Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Saad Khan and MNA Saood Majeed in a press briefing said that that all the arrangements have been finalised. They added that 23 official departments including, Pakistan Army, Desert Rangers, Police, local administration, Health Department and others had been contacted in this regard for cooperation. They added that these department had assured them of complete support and cooperation to make this rally a real success.
They disclosed that around 100,000 visitors including foreigners were expected to watch this jeep rally so special focus had been given on security measures. They said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had been taking keen interest in the success of the event which would help improve the national image.
A number of stalls will be set up there.
