PU IAS produces first PhD in Management


LAHORE - Zia Ullah has completed his PhD in Management from the Punjab University Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS) under the supervision of Prof Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jadoon while Dr Muhammad Tariq Siddiqui, former Vice-Chancellor, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad was Co-Supervisor. Zia Ullah is the first candidate who has completed his PhD in Management from the IAS. A public defence/viva voce of his doctoral thesis titled “Towards Quality Assessment Model of a Teaching Hospital: A Study of Mayo Hospital, Lahore” was held here in the Seminar Hall of the Institute. Zia Ullah presented an excellent presentation regarding the research work and answered the questions of the audience. His thesis was evaluated by two foreign examiners, Prof Paul Verweel from University of Utrecht, Holland and Prof Mike P. Walsh, University of Stirling, UK. Both the examiners gave excellent remarks and appreciated the research work done by the researcher. Prof Dr Muhammad Anwar (Retd Chairman), PU Department of Sociology has conducted his viva voce as external examiner.
Director IAS Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen, faculty members and a large number of MPhil and PhD researchers attended the public defence.
