CHINIOT - The Fesco employees staged a protest rally against the proposed privatisation of the power distribution companies.and recruitment of a non-professional as Fesco Chief Executive Officer.
They said the government had not taken the Wapda employees into confidence while making the decision. They announced that they would stage a sit-in in front of the Parliament.
The workers alleged that the appointment of private persons as CEOs of distribution companies would bring disaster in the whole powers distribution system. The Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union leaders said that the privatization of electric supply companies would lead to un-checked hike in power tariff.
 “Our country is already facing a severe energy crisis and the government’s decision to privatise the sector is not in the interest of the country,” they said.
