ISLAMABAD – PPP Co-Chairman and President Asif Ali Zardari has offered to oblige the main opposition party PML-N with level-playing field in next general elections should it cooperate with ruling alliance in the passage of 20th constitutional amendment.

Sources privy to these developments told TheNation Saturday that the President through an intermediary has sent a message to PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif currently in UK for his party cooperation in the smooth passage of 20th amendment. According to sources, in return PPP Co-Chairman has offered the PML-N maximum cooperation in general elections especially in southern Punjab. Sources further said Zardari has called upon the PML-N chief for deeper cooperation between the two major political players in the larger interest of democracy.
