PESHAWAR  - A high-level delegation of the Afghan Border Police (ABP) led by Lieutenant General Shafiq Fazli, Commander ABP, visited Corps Headquarters on Wednesday and called on Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayat ur Rehman.

According to the ISPR, matters related to border security and measures to enhance the existing border coordination mechanism were discussed during the meeting.

The delegation also visited Fort Balahisar Fort and met Inspector General Frontier Corps, Major General Tayyab Azam, and discussed matters of professional and mutual interest. On arrival at Balahisar, the delegation laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-i- Shuhada and offered Fateha.

It may be mentioned here that the Corps Commander Peshawar had also visited Afghanistan on 18 January and current visit of the Afghan delegation is a sequel to the series of meetings planned on both sides of the border to boost military to military cooperation between the two armies.

Sartaj felicitates Rabbani: Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, has felicitated Salahuddin Rabbani on his appointment as Afghanistan's new Foreign Minister.

In a felicitation message on Wednesday, the Adviser wished Rabbani a successful term and expressed the commitment to work closely with him for the realization of the forward-looking vision of the two leaders to forge a comprehensive and enduring partnership between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Adviser has also extended an invitation to Rabbani to visit Pakistan.
