Islamabad - In a daring attempt, different gangs of armed criminals and thieves struck different parts of the city and deprived the citizens of vehicles, cash, mobile phones and valuables worth millions of rupees.

According to details, two unknown armed persons blocked Korang Road by parking a taxi car (LZL-6774) in the middle of the road and snatched a car (LEJ-1147) and cash from one Shahid Zaman at gun point. The criminals also snatched three mobile phones and cash from one Malik Masood who approached the ‘picket’ in his car. They also deprived one Waheed Anwar of cash and registration book of his motorcycle and fled away from the crime scene. Secretariat police have registered a case against unknown person under section 392 PPC.

In another incident, two unknown persons snatched two mobile phones from one Muhammad Naveed Arif at gun point in the Sabzi Mandi police station limits. Similarly, unknown thieves lifted the laptop of one Hassan Jalil from his car from F-6 Markaz. Unknown thieves struck the house of one Muhammad Zaman and took away gold ornaments, electric fan, UPS and LCD in the limits of Margalla police station. Unknown thieves took away motorcycle of Sabir Masih parked in front of his house in G-9/2 sector.

Meanwhile, Golra police have registered a case against 6 members of Pakistan Federal Cooperative Housing Society Islamabad for embezzling Rs 270 million of the society funds. The report was lodged on the complaint of President of the society Shaid Yaqoob.

The accused include Khalid Javed, Jamil Asghar, Dr Inayat Hussain, Muhammad Zaman, Shahida, Raja Shahid, and Malik Javed Asghar.

Separately, Islamabad police have arrested 69 suspects during search operation in various areas of the city, a police spokesman said. Police teams conducted search in the areas of Dhoke Malyar, F-11, G-12, Mohalla Chauddhrian, Iqbal Town, Farash Town and under-construction buildings as well as plazas there. They succeeded to nab 69 suspects who are being investigated further.
